About the Author

I was unsure about the national registry exam. There was so many little details in the book that I thought I needed to know for the exam. This book greatly shortens it and only tells you what you need to know. I read about a chapter a day for over a month and I passed the national registry on my first attempt. My only criticism is that the practice questions in the book and on the included online practice test were not like the national registry test. I wish they were more scenario based. But other than that this book really helped me prepare for the test. I would definitely recommend it.
If you’re having doubts about not passing your national regristry buy this book! It has everything you need to know and is updated. I failed 3 times and I was constantly studying the giant EMT book that was required for the class but the layout wasn’t for me. I found this book to be straight on the point and it took me only 2 days to read it entirely. I kept going back and reviewing the content I was weak on and come to the day of the test I Passed at the minimum of 70 questions! This book is amazing for anyone who plans on taking the EMT career path.
This was an awesome review! I skipped out on some of my readings from my extremely dense textbook over the semester and was worried I would have to open that terrible book again after passing the class, but this was informative and succinct enough that I passed my exam with a minimum of 70 questions. Definitely make flashcards from this and memorize as much as you can because the information is already pretty consolidated to begin with. The only con of this book is that I had to buy another book of practice questions because the ones in these book are pretty basic (just meant to consolidate knowledge after each chapter) and not really representative of the questions on the actual exam.
Promises access to a full online test. My Kindle version does not include an access code, so I was blocked from using the practice test.
First time taking the NREMT and I passed with this book being a pretty big aid to my studying. It cuts out all the extra fluff from our textbooks and I literally concentrated on EVERYTHING we’re expected to know for test day. I can tell you as long as you study word for word every line in this short book, you will do well. Make sure you guys take plenty of extra practice tests as well! The NREMT writes their questions a little tricky on purpose. Good luck!
Awesome book that takes out all the long-winded explanations from the giant text book and puts it in easy to understand bullet points. Took a second to adjust to the outline style layout of the book, but was super helpful. Only thing I wish it could include more of is treatments, but it’s understandable as to why with states having their own regulations and how medicine is always changing. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do well in the class. This will also be a helpful tool for pre-paramedic and paramedic training/classes.My only regret is that I bought it about halfway through my class course and it wouldve been great to have from the start. The sooner you get it, the better you’ll understand the material!
Absolutely perfect for aspiring and returning EMTs. I took the course through a university that had its own textbook but found this to be infinitely times better. I like how it’s set up in bullet point and outline fashion instead of paragraphs; makes it easy and quick to read and understand. Passed the practical and the written portions on the first try!
Very good book. I used this as a study aid and recommended it to fellow students - some even never read the big giant text book. If you’re utilizing this for the nys exam, make sure you look up the nys protocols make notes in the book since every jurisdiction has different protocols. Still super helpful! Thank you for this. I as well as others ended up passing in the 80’s
