Pictures are cute but I expecting photos of faces expressing different emotions like "happy" or "sad" or "mad". The emotions in these pictures are ambiguous and tough to explain to a 1 year old.
This has been a consistent favorite. As a baby my daughter loved looking at the pictures of other babies. As she got older she would page through it on her own. Looking at real pictures of babies (not just illustrations) is something so many little ones love to do, but it's so hard to find in books. That makes this book (and the others in the series) a super find. She still brings it to us to read to her, definitely a big hit!! We've given it as a baby gift to several friends as well!
Cute book. The pages are thinner than other board books we have, but that doesn't seem to be a problem.Each page has a photo of a baby on it and the story is basically a group of things you might say while trying to get a child to smile for a camera.There are just a few words per page, so you can let your baby's interest in the photos set the pace for reading.
Even though my baby hates reading, he get's this book and it makes him laugh, so I love it.I also bought this book since the baby on the cover looks like my baby, and I want my son to see representations of him out there (I know it's early... but I appreciate the diversity).
I like that it shows babies of many ethnic backgrounds. I like that it shows babies with teeth, as it also helped me teach my baby what teeth are (leadinding into, don't bite with them!). I am not sure that the text necessarilly matched the expressions (the first page is "look at the birdie" but there is no bird in sight) which is why I knocked off a star.
Babies love looking at other babies, it's true. This book captivated my baby even at 3 months old. He loves looking at the baby's faces. Good book!
My twins like this book so much. Always keep asking me to read for them even though they haven’t start talking. They laughed when we turn to the page with smile baby faces.
I bought it as a mistake, actually. I was going to get a different book with facial expressions but got this one instead. My young toddler didn't like it.
