I purchased this book for a person wanting to learn about the Catholic faith. It is too much, too soon for a person at that point who has not even been through the RCIA program. But I will say it DOES have "Everything" about Catholicism for a veteran Catholic.
This book is written much like a "For Dummies" book with very clear wording. You don't have to be a Priest to read this one and I think it would be most helpful to assist with the direction of those new to the church, but it is also a good reminder for those of us not new to the church.
Good info and a great book to re-familiarize yourself with what you want to know.
After not attending church sine age 12, and never been baptized I felt a need to return to the church. I reguarly attend the local Catholic parish since just after Christmas and I have a lovely time. I attend the RCIA classes though I won't be don't in time for Easter this year I still have next year to study. Our class introduced this book and gave everyone copies of it and the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults for at home reading. I am already on Chapter 7, I can't put it down.
I am absolutely satisfied with this book (Everything Guide to Catholicism)that I purchased. I am catholic but wanted to learn more. I am already on chapter 6 because it is interesting and fact-filled. I recommend it to anyone wanting to learn about the Catholic faith, even someone who already considers themselves Catholic.
I have learned so much from this book. If you want to learn your faith and the history, this in one youhave.
Great for brushing up on what you forgot or finding out things that you were not aware of. Good place to start.
